Book Trailers

Here are some of the best book trailers I’ve found. I showed a few to parents at the Yr 7 iPad and Literacy evening – they loved them. Show these to your groups and get them to start compiling a list of ‘would like to read’ books in the back of their Skills books! You could send them to Sally in the OLC so that she can start ordering.

Crewel by Gennifer Albin

Over last  summer a UK publisher ran a competition to find a young musician, aged 13-18 to write the music for a book trailer for a teen novel, Crewel by Gennifer Albin.

Here, the winner, 14-year-old Roisin O’Hagan, explains how she used the ‘dark, dangerous’ themes of the book as inspiration for her song, which you can listen to below. What about that for a project – Greg/Beth? Music and Literacy…..

All the Wrong Questions: Who Could That Be At This Hour? by Lemony Snicket

Love the animations.

Black Heart Blue by Louisa Reid

Beautiful trailer. Might get a lot of confident Yr 7 girls and above reading a little more.

The Alchemyst by Michael Scott

A series of thrillers for teens. Really well-made trailer. Thinking of so many projects we could do here…
